AFF SUZUKI CUP HEATS UP

With the official draw results of the Asian Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup already out, Suzuki Philippines Inc (SPH) kindles the fire to throw out its full support to the Philippine national football team, also known as Azkals, and heat up the excitement for fans with a slew of contests, promos and other activities.

The Philippines will host the Group A of the group rounds for the first time and will face off with Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia. Meanwhile, Myanmar will be the playing ground for Group B composed of Myanmar, Malaysia, Vietnam and whichever among Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos and Timor-Leste wins the qualifying rounds happening in October. The Group stages will be played from November 19 to 26, while the semi-finals and final rounds are set from December 3 to 17.

With Group A composed of four-peat winners Singapore and Thailand which is also the defending champion, and with the Azkals giving strong performances in the 2010, 2012 and 2014 semifinals of the biennial tournament, the competition is expected to be fiercer in this group. The Azkals, led by coach Thomas Dooley, enters the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016 as one of the favorites.

Suzuki Philippines is honored to be part of a football tournament of such magnitude, and at the same time doubly thrilled this year with Philippines as one of the hosts. As the whole country comes together to give its whole-hearted support to the Philippine men’s team, Suzuki Philippines would like to add to the home advantage of the Azkals by inviting all Filipinos to watch the games and be part of the activities to inspire the country’s pride to take home the trophy. The Group A matches will be held at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan and at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

To drum up the buzz, the AFF Suzuki Cup Trophy will be toured before the group stage matches starts.

In addition, exciting activities await Filipino football fans as the road to the AFF Suzuki Cup heats up. A set of AFF Suzuki Cup – branded Suzuki Swift car and Suzuki motorcycle will be on exhibit at the Philippine Sports Stadium, the venue of the group matches, starting on November 19. Plus, premium Suzuki items, and VIP tickets to both the Cup and the on-site activities will be up for grabs.

Another Podium In Team Suzuki Pilipinas’ Belt At Sac Round 4

And the Philippine flag is on the podium once again in the international racing scene! Amidst the very tough races, Team Suzuki Pilipinas made sure that they got a podium on their belt when they go home. In a series of heart pounding laps, April King Mascardo, Eane Jaye (EJ) Sobretodo and Mario Borbon Jr. battled it hard with their equally strong contenders to win a trophy.

The race track was bumpy and tricky but first timer Sobretodo was able to lead the pack of riders on Race 1 when teammate April got an overshoot after leading the first laps of the competition. However, the chicane caused him to overshoot as well, resulting to a crash. The team concluded with 5th for Mascardo, 9th for Borbon Jr. and 11th for Sobretodo – all riders with improved lap times.

On Race 2, EJ took the lead but was cornered by his equally aggressive contenders. This gave the chance to April to advance into the race. Positioning first on the last lap, April went fast and got out of the pack giving chance to other contenders Jefri Tosema of Indonesia and Rozaliman Zakaria of Malaysia

to get in the lead. Pushing it hard, April finished the race on 3rd place. EJ came back on 6th position with Mario on 8th; all with faster lap times than their records during race 1. Mascardo was even able to achieve the fastest lap on this race.

Suzuki Philippines President Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki was all thrilled during the games and was happy of the results of Team Suzuki Pilipinas’ performance. He also presented the awards during race 1.

After round 4, Team Suzuki Pilipinas’ overall standings are: EJ Sobretodo on 4th, April Mascardo on 5th and Mario Borbon Jr. on 7th. The team will be back on the SAC tracks in December for the final leg of this season.

UEMI-Suzuki 3S Shop Grand Opening

(UEMI) brought it to the next level as it reopens its Suzuki 3S Shop in Taytay, Rizal. The said renovation of the shop aims to enhance its physical look, improve Suzuki’s brand image and address the growing demand for Suzuki Motorcycles in the area.

Suzuki and Guanzon Group of Companies started its partnership in 1975. It was further strengthened through the presence of UEMI, its first multi-brand motorcycle shop in 1998. Since then, the company has been rendering high-quality service on motorcycles and provides the best motorcycle products. The first Suzuki-UEMI 3S Shop was built in Taytay in 2005 which was followed immediately by two more stores located in Roosevelt, Quezon City and Dagupan City, Pangasinan. UEMI and Suzuki prepared exciting promos and various activities for the shop’s re-opening. The UEMI opening ceremonies started in the morning with a motorcade supported by Suzuki Skydrive Society riders followed by fun games, free fishball and ice cream which vistors availed at the shop. After the short activity, the ribbon cutting, blessing of the store, intermission numbers and a formal program followed which was attended by Suzuki Philippines and Guanzon-UEMI executives. More fun and suprises await in the afternoon with free service campaign, karaoke, free gupit for customers who will buy Suzuki products.

The special occasion was attended by Suzuki Philippines, Inc.’s President Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki, Managing Director Norminio Mojica and General Manager for Sales and Marketing for Motorcycle Mr. Jun Bulot. VP and Gen. Manager Guanson Lo, After Sales Manager Jojo Josue, Area head Ms. Emilia Quetua, and Branch Head Ms. Magie Bauzon were also present in this momentous event. Suzuki riders from nearby towns, business partners and media friends also came to celebrate with the two big names in the motoring industry.
